No, he said to weld the base right to the boat. I really don't want to drill clear through the rail. I suppose I could just use the JB Weld and sheet metal screws for extra strength. The anchor pulley is easy, I'll use the 1/4" bolts because all I have to drill through is the corner brace. And yes, these are all the Cabelas brand
