I lived in Bakersfield CA as a kid and got to Bass fish some with my G-dad there... but that was some 50 years back.
I visit Chula Vista on occasion to see my wife's mom and would like to lear more about CA fishing.
I fish the upper midwest states of MN, N Dakota, S Dakota, and WI mostly.
I like fishing Small Mouth Bass most of all and fish the Ashland area of Lake Superior... it rocks! Big smallies.

Here is my favorite bait... a weedless Kick-N Craw (note when rigged this way that the weed gards hold the claws in a defensive position)

I have enjoyed learning about lures you guys & gals use out West and have gotten into Swimbaits.
It was exciting to have CA's Bill Siemantel on as a radio show guest as he shares much info about big Bass lures.

Do you throw any smaller sized baits? There are times here in MN that the bass will want only small offerings.
