Hey Swimbait:

Where do you see that this is a blatant advertisement?? I seriously doubt that Sal, the owner of Bob Sands, (or any of the guys in his shop) has any time to put up any self-serving posts to drum up business. This is the same guy busting his butt, getting on the horn, informing folks that stop into his shop, to get guys together (i.e. organizing bus rides of fisherman to go to Sacramento) to fight the closures that might keep you from fishing certain areas up and down the coast. I'm sure you've gotten an earful of that by now, or maybe not if you aren't concerned with the SoCal fishery?? Don't know if you fish the salt or not, but it concerns you too, or should...the same folks screaming for closures down might start honing in on your precious freshwater haunts up north. This guy is doing you a favor...

As for the "advertising", hardly... I doubt that a Mike Long seminar would be held at someone's house, but by your logic that's okay for XYZ Tackle Shop to host it and that wouldn't be considered self-serving or advertising. As for interests of all fisherman, this would definitely be something along that line. This is a FISHING TACKLE SWAPMEET at a FISHING TACKLE SHOP's parking lot. Don't know if you've ever been to one, but we ALL benefit by having access to other fishermen, our great stories, contacts, swapping of information, as well as shots at some great deals on used gear?? This is not for the benefit of Bob Sands, who took over this swapmeet as a result of Fisherman's Spot (another SoCal FISHING tackle store) that dropped it since they went to an all fly tackle fishing store and asked Sal to take over due to it's popularity with local FISHERMEN. Who benefits most, the fishermen who attend or Sal and other employees of Bob Sands whom you seem to be pointing your finger at?? We're out ther looking for deals on used gear... I seriously doubt there sales inside are booming as a result of fishermen looking for cheap deals?!

Instead of being so quick to accuse, maybe you should get informed and stop slamming people who try to drop some good info or opportunity at getting some good info. Granted, you can do with this site what you want, you're obviously choosing your words without any solid backing... Grow up Mr. Swimbait, nobody's trying to do any harm to your little site...

Guess I've only got 7 hours left...

Tight lines...
Tony

p.s. By the way, I'm not an employee at Bob Sand's, nor am I associated with them in any way other than an occasional visit to the shop to see what's new. I've met and bought a couple of reels from Sal and from all the folks I've talked with and seen up front, he's a nice guy and great fisherman to boot and he gives a damn about the water you fish...
