#10667, "Bolsa Chica 8/25"

Fished the sunset for two corbinas about 16". Got one on 1 1/2" grub clear/red flake and the other on a ghost shrimp. The latter was a little tricky maneuvering around the kelp which was plentiful. The sandcrabs were hard to find and the water was cold. First cast with a crab, which was one full of eggs, it got hit right away. It kind of felt like the old plastic bag filled with water hookup. Then definitely felt the fish tugging, but the line was staying in the same place, no runs in any direction. After a little while finally brought it in ...It was a little stingray (I think, definitely not a shovelnose) tailhooked at about 2" before the end of the skinny tail! That was a first. Will hopefully be trying Goleta on Thursday. Looking forward to it after reading the previous posts.
