From Monterey, Highway 1 will take you about 4 1/2 hours and the 101 will take about 3 hours. Highway 1 is a lot more scenic. The trip cost about $200. Price included bait, bunk, and 5 meals. It leaves Friday nights at 11:00 p.m. and returns Sunday at 5:00 p.m. I fished Jax Jigs the whole time. Anywhere from 8 to 14 ounces. For line, 30 lbs. and greater test is recomended. I fished 25 lbs. test and lost a big fish, it snapped my line right in half. I also packed a few diamond jigs, misc. weights, hooks, and ganiuns just in case, but never used them. I suggest taking them just in case. You could get away with 6-8 ounce jigs in the shallow water, but like I said, we didn't fish their that much. I suggest making reservations. Call for trip times. Any other questions call Virg's Sport Fishing @ (805) 772-2216.
