Last time I went to Canada I was only prepared for trout since we were in the rockies. I didn't realize there would be much pike action up there. Small spoons and small crankbaits were all I had. Next time I'm bringing an arsenal of big #####.

With how aggressive those pike are you could probably throw an un-painted Slammer at them and they'd nail it purely because of the action (hell it works with tuna - cedar plugs).

I'm definetely bringing a slammer next time along with some big plastics - Thrashed or not it'll be worth it.

Good luck with the plastics. Hope you get some fish on them. I've been putting together my own buzzbaits for years simply because I like to mold a screw lock to the head to hold my trailers on. It's fun catching fish on something you made.
