O.K. Dude,
I think that the leader thing is a bad idea, when the fish are gonna bite it doesn't matter if the thing is tied on with neon rope, when they bite they bite hard and they mean it. I would use 20# at the very maximum. I throw all my big baits on 15# Triple-x and have never broken off I've even pulled in a couple of trees with the stuff. I know that line brands are personal preference but the triple-x is rope and it casts really far. Try not to get too technical with your rig I would worry about trying to fish the right place at the right time. I wouldn't recommend the flourocarbon thing at all, its too brittle and when you get a big fish close all thats between you and your trophy is that stuff, it's just a bad idea. Definitely keep your drag locked down to hook the fish and keep it hooked, (you can always loosen it if you think you need to). Hope this helps,
