they weigh 1.5 oz I personaly dont use stingers on them but some guys do so thats why I put the eye down there. I would use a small treble if I fished tournaments and if I was going to use it on a bed. But I prefer the bluegill on beds. Almost all of my fish on the 6in have had the bait deep. I think a treble might be a pain but like I said if your fishing for money a little insurance might be good
