Matt, are those baits painted? Also it looks like the minnows have some sort of a insert in them. Is this for sink rate?
Baits look great, keep up the good work.

Thanks Pete. All of them are painted. The minnos have a belly slit similar to a fluke. You can kind of see it in the clear baits. There is also a small hole from the nose leading into the belly slit so you can thread your line through and then tie your hook on. This makes it real easy to rig and the bait can slide up the line which inreases its life.
BTW Mike got one when are you coming down?

KILLA Baits Matt! I'll fire some up here in Chi-condo this year, and I KNOW they'll get bit! The MATTSHADS really look awesome and the bottom hook loop MAKES the bait for the open waters of the midwest a NO BRAINER as the hook-up ratio will approach 100%. I have a bunch of the 4 inch Optimums with that bottom loop and I RARELY lose a fish when I'm, due to the given weeds/cover, able to use a bottom treble, especially when reeling it on top/in the upper foot or two of the water column. The MATTSHADS will replace them in short order....They look REAL enough out of the water, the must look great IN the water! - ALEX

Thanks for the kind words Alex. I agree with you, the bottom hook is extremly improtant for landing fish. The shad was actualy the first freshwater swimbait I ever made. I have just never released it. I have caught a ton of fish on various sizes and prototypes and I have lost a bunch to. The bottom hook make a huge diference. Dont get me wrong you can land them with just a top hook but I tend to use these baits on regular bass gear and you cant winch them in like you would with swimbait gear. This gives them time to jump and with just the top hook they have a decent chance of throwing the bait. With the treble your odds go WAY up.
