Has anyone fished this lake and what is the best you have caught there???
I have personally caught a 3 lber there but know there is some big bass there...
A buddy of mine showed me a photo of a big bass (around 8lbs) caught out of the creek area in the west shore...

I hit up on Sunday for about an hour throwing jigs and senkos to the cover for no love. It was my first time fishing the lake and it's very limited on shore access and I wasn't able to get bit but I was impressed with this lake. Not to mention the fact that it's the only natural park lake that I can think of around LA other than Crystal Lake and the lake in the Arboretium.

Hey Jerry the other cool thing is that there is not alot of fishing pressure at this lake...
I was there on Monday morning and saw several shadows just out of casting reach from the dock...
I threw several lures and only a black single willow blade spinnerbait got the attention of one of those shadows...
It got my heart racing when it turnes towards my lure...
To bad it never came after it..
I began to cast that spinner all day and nothing...
When that place picks up it is nice to fish there...

I am going there Wednesday morning...
Probably going to try a watermelon black flake senko...
Weightless and pitching to the bushes and cattails...
Will post photos if I hook up...
By the way anyone know of someone that wants to buy a float tube???
I have Caddi's U-Boat with some Stearn's Waders...
Let it go for $100 or OBO...

That was the same color Senko I threw while I was there on Sunday. Maybe you'll have better luck. I spent more time pitching a jig in to cover. Hopefully I'll have more than an hour to fish next time I'm there.

Went by Monday Morning and there are bass spawning at every hideout possible...
I did however see several snakes from large to small sizes...
If anyone heads over to this lake be very careful where you step...

hey chuydawg,

Where do you fish over there? i've only fished right out in front from the little inlet to the cement wall thing looking like your fishing from a pier. Is there other access to fish over there. im only like 10 minutes away from that lake but rarely fish it.

chuy,

im pretty sure i know where the concrete launch ramp is and the maintence building is. How do you get to the east shore and where is the sidewalk dam...do you have to walk on that bike trail with the wooden path? i enter from just south of the 5 corners on normandie. Do you enter from somewhere else?

If you walk along the west shore once you pass the dock you will get to the trail where the wooden fence is...
Take the cement trail where the cattails open up...
That is considered the dam...
Stay on that road and it will curve around the lake and head by the golf course...
Once you get to the golf course the trail leads to the east shore etrance...
Here is a website dedicated to the park...
http://www.angelfire.com/falcon/kmhrp/habitats.html
The second photo from the top shows the dam...
There is a photo that has a man holding binoculars that shows the dam up close...
