#16142, "funny bass spawning places"

Thought this might be a fun thread... what are the oddest things you've seen a bass spawning on?

Some funny ones that come to mind for me:

a beer can (original coors in the gold can mind you)
an aerobee frisbee
truck tires, seen this more than once

Fishing a tourney with Lake once we were jamming around a dock and they had some steps that went into the water on the end of the dock. He literally dropped his bait straight down on to the 2nd step in about a foot and a half of water as we went by on high speed and a second later a 3lber came flying into the boat! We got a good laugh on that one, I'm sure the fish was spawning there.

Let's hear some stories :)

haha this thread will be a good one!

i dont have and real funny ones like you. a truck tire seems like a typical bed for a fish.

i really dont have any funnies ones now that i think about it. maybe its because im mostly limited to shore access. but id love to hear others!

kill bass, they eat fry. - its a joke!

Sunken lawn chair out on the Delta, one of the white plastic kind. The fish stuck out like a sore thumb. One spring break at clear lake we caught fish all over the lake on stairs going into the water.

Lotta ins, lotta outs, lotta what have-yous

No real funny ones here but I've seen a pair in the crook of a tree about 5 feet down over 25 feet of water.

This will be a good thread, heres a couple that come to mind

dolphin for lower units on boats in side there slips at a large marina. This was actually a half azz pattern. I saw 3 boats with the dolphin and they all have fish on em and they were the only boats that had fish. Keep in mind they were suspended over 40-60ft.

How about on a bed :+ actually a water logged box spring for a mattress in the keys. You know that fish was all singing "chilln at the holiday inn"

I've seen them spawning on white foam blocks that are in steal beams around some houseboats...6-7' down over 40-60' of water...

On a Float Lift in the middle of a boat slip at Clear Lake.

Had a four to five pounder bedded right in the middle of the plastic base under the loading bunks of the power lift.

In one of the bigger spawning coves at LMV, it seriously looks like someone made a place for fish to bed intentionally. The last 3 years in a row there has a been a male in the middle of this ring of half-submerged tires. It's a full circle of tires in like 4 feet of water. It looks like the fish is holding up in a fort. Other than that, I've seen them spawning on a shopping cart and on a washer, both in LMV. Funny fish.

Jake

Last weekend on the delta in between some docks a big blue tarp had blown off a guys boat and was submerged yet it looked like it had wedged in between the dock and boat so it wasn't going anywhere and in the middle of the big blue tarp was a dumbass male just sitting there acting like no one would see him against the blue bottom. It was pretty funny.

Trash cans are always good spots. if there isnt a fish in one when i see it I will keep checking it and sooner or later a fish will be spawning in it.
