Here's the way I see it.

Lakes like SARL are basically amusement parks. Not all of us can be or have the desire to be race car drivers, skydivers, hang gliders, etc. so we go to amusement parks and pay for a thrill.

The same with those "big fish" lakes. Not all people can catch or have the desire or ambition to do what it takes to catch big fish like that so they pay for the thrill.

Counted as records - my vote is no. Would you expect to get some kind of record for riding some roller coaster? I know it's a poor analogy but you can see my point.
