We fished June last year. Caught fish on Pin's minnows and Thomas Bouyants. I just used my trolling motor and cruised the shore like fishing for bass. You could see the roving schools of planters and they would usually bite if you didn't get too close to them. We fished Gull one day and the bite was tougher. Did see some cutthroat trout cruising around but couldn't get them to bite. My favorites on that side of the sierras are Crowley, South Lake, and Intake II. Crowley is gross looking with the algae but the fish fight harder than anywhere else and can be very acrobatic. South Lake I like for the scenery and the fact that there is usually a good number of Alpers and browns in there. Intake II has a ton of small browns that just love the Pin's Minnow. Even if they are 7 to 12 inches they are a ton of fun.
