ha, sounds like a familiar story at dixon, welcome to the club :-) I haven't done too much damage on the jig since I've been down here. I love jig fishing and I wish I could get something together with the jig but it's a different ball game down here than it is in central and northern cal. I've thrown jigs at dixon in the few spots where you can actually fish a jig at that lake. I've had two or three really huge fish nose up on my jig before but I haven't been able to get any of em to open their mouths.
I think you (we) gotta realize how much different these san diego fish are than basically the rest of the world. You'd be hard pressed to catch a fish at dixon blazing through the tullies throwing a black/red buzzbait and a mann's 1 minus, but do it at the delta and you'll probably end up with a limit or two. I'd say scale down your jigs, make them look as natural as possible and fish em deep. If you can get flip fish on a jig in san diego you'll be my hero. I like brown/orange for some reason. I've always done good on that color. Try to locate some rockpiles or rocky shorelines and give it a go. -Brian
