we have been fishing swimbaits hard all winter and have found that no matter what hooks or o-rings we have been useing they seem to bend. what do you guys feel is the best hook and o-ring combo? tried all types of high grade hooks, but they still seem to have the same problem. chip gilbert .... bassaholics clothing

Chip Have you tried the Owner hyperwire split rings? How about the Owner 2/0 stingers? Are you guys getting bent out on bass or on stripers? What kind of line (mono or braid?) For stripers maybe you need to go to 4x hooks. The gammie 4x are not that big of a hook but I can't see ever bending out those hooks on 25lb. I bent out on VMC 3/0's three times last year, twice on stripers and once on bass. It happens... and it sucks.

yea we have bent the owners on bass and stripers. mono and braid. i think we may have found some good hooks now. caught a few on them with no problems. just waiting for a big one for the true test. the o-ring problem is sloved for sure. i picked up some saltwater black ones from squid co. i have yet to bend them even with pliers. chip gilbert .... bassaholics clothing
