#7281, "How to hook a nightcrawler?"

Well I'm thinking of going to Prado this week and I heard the best way to catch bass is using nightcrawlers(worms).

I want to know where to put the hook through the worm?

I would try plastics before you try the crawlers. Small straight tail worms 4" or smaller fished either wieghtless on the top or split shotted on the bottom. Fishing with n/c has the risk of deep hooking the fish. Good luck and if you have any questions about Prado feel free to e-mail me or post them.

Nightcrawlers? Wasap, dog? Don't be doin' that. That's cheatin'!!! Have you ever tried Bass fishin' with lures to any success? Well, you probably gon do it anyway, so I might as well give you my input. They do work very well. Where to hook them? Anywhere where they won't come off when casting. My brutha, lures are cheaper and they last alot longer. Plus, you give the fish a fighting chance at the game. My friends are avid live-bait fishermen and they catch lots of fish, but there were many times while fishin' right next to them I was able to humble them fishin' with da lures. I basically had them bowing down to my supremacy in lure fishing expertise. Yeah.I'm braggin'. Honestly, they usually outfish me with the crawlers. You are probably going to catch alot of fish. With that in mind, please practice catch and release, and keep your fair share for the table or whatever. Educate others about the great importance of conservation. Here in San Jose, I see many of our Bass being exploited by live-bait fishing. It probably wouldn't be so bad so long as the fishermen doing it were conservation conscious. If you are going to live-bait the fish, I ask that you would give me the peace of mind that you will not abuse it. Nightcrawlers? Hookem' once on the dark end so they stay on the hook and be ready for the bite. James.
