I just wanted to thank you for your detailed information on using swimbaits for Halibuts. I have been fishing Goleta Pier at lunch time for the past week and finally caught a halibut using a 3" swimbait. The halibut wasnt big at all (12inches), but catching that using a light weight rod spooled with 6lb line was a blast. Thanks again...... Rudy.

Leapin'Bass is so cool!
I also have learned so much from his posts that I can't begin to thank him.
My enthusiasm for light tackle salt water angling is at an all time high thanks to the advise and techniques described here.
Thanks also to guys like Fongster and AmishEd who have been there with info. I feel like this is the Academy Awards but seriously, I love this sight and the people here are great!

Thanks guys - you are way too kind. It wasn't too many years ago that I was switching from freshwater bass to light tackle inshore saltwater fishing. There are a few guys here at Calfishing and some others elsewhere who really helped me out - especially when it came to fishing swimbaits for halibut & white seabass - and thankfully I've become friends with them. I wouldn't be where I am now or enjoying fishing so much if it weren't for the kindness of other anglers - I only hope I can pass the enjoyment on to others.
