What do you guys think about using the surface iron for big lmb? I know it sounds retarded but the boards are slow and I was looking at calico gear and thinking. Hmmmm...

That's what the guys used prior to having hardbaits and swimbaits in the mid to late 80's.

How ya think I got the name Iron Long? hahaha, I threw iron for a bit about a year ago. I hooked a couple at this pond but they throw the jig out of their mouth really easily.

I threw a 545 a couple years ago at Pyramid for about an hour. It was white and the 6 inch model...Didn't get any hits but the stripers followed it up and boiled on it a few times......

Some of the old hardcore saltwater guys were painting them like bows back in the 80's. They were killing the huge stripers at pyramid on em.

Dude I've got an iron painted like a trout. It's not surface style, more like a 2 or a 3. May have to give it a try...
