There is a nice submerged tree about halfway to "half moon bay" from the marina at Lake Chabot. Have you ever tried to sight-fish it? I have been walking on the path to bass cove and have seen many bass there. Just a thought...go to the cove behind bass cove and use shallow-running cranks. I saw 7 or 8 bass over 6 lbs. there on April 16...they chased all the cranks, but only would hit a tiny crawdad imitation that runs about 3 feet deep.
