Took my oldest son(11) out fishing for perch for the first time. He had 4 fish in just about as many casts! I was batting Zero for the first 30 min!! Both of us were throwing the big hammers(casting practice for hime since he mainly fishes on the party boats.) We were fishing the incoming tide and caught about 15 each before sundown. 90% were hand sized 6 inchers with a few larger 10" fish that were pregnant. All were released except for 5 that were hooked deep.

On a side note....I just found this site and followed a link to the big hammer site....checked out the rigging info for perch. I'm an "old school" rigger when it comes to grubs, and this time out I rigged it "their" way. Well....I cant really tell a difference except that I went through more grubs than I normally do! Hmmm?!?!!
