I fished La Conchita today from 0800 until I got stung by a jellyfish, which was about 1145 hours. The water was great. Only one wave would come in at a time with the water going flat for a bit, then another wave would come in. It was good, you could cast behind the wave and feel every strike. It was overcast all morning and the sun didnt come out until about noon. The only people on the beach was myself, another fisherman about 1/2 mile up the beach, a few dog walkers, and the same beautiful lady that jogs every morning in her tiny bikini. Woof!! Woof!! :9 Sorry ladies, no disrespect intented. The flat area of the beach, the trough, and the bowls area were holding lots of Barred Perch. I didnt see any Corbinas until I headed out to have my jellyfish sting looked at, then I nearly stepped on 2 of them. As far as BP it when like this 4 in the 13-141/2 inch range, 5 in the 11-13 range, and 6 in the 8-10 inch range. Overall it was a great day to fish there. The Red tide was way off the beach. As for my set up, it was #6 main line on a carolina rig w/#4 test leader. The bait was sandcrabs, although I did try my grubs I had no luck with them. It must of been because I was out of the scent. I did lose my set up a few times when something big and strong hooked up and ran. My reel sang but the pull was so strong that it broke my leader in half. Maybe it was one of the two halibuts I released in previous weeks or a big Corbina. Anyways it was great!!! Anyways, take care and stay safe, and we'll see you in the surf!! Cali_bear
