I have been fishing with plastics for a long time but I just got a bait tank for my kayak and Im going to start having one rod down with a peice of bait on it while I fish with an artificial. Ill more than likely be using mutant smelt and macks because thats the kind of bait I see in my local kelp. Are trap hooks neccesary for fishing with large bait for 'buts? What is the best way to insert the trap hook?
