Went out on the Hornet, Saturday afternoon April 28, and had a wonderful time. Finucan was searching hard for fish and our first three stops drew blanks. Finally, he found a spot and we had a wonderful sandbass bite. Myself, I caught only one Sandy but was more than pleased with the four vermillion rockfish that I pulled up. Bite was shallow (100 ft or so) and the prime bait was chovies. Nice to see that there some fish here in local waters--I was beginning to get discouraged. But a great way to spend a Saturday afternoon!
