#7131, "Oceanside Pier Piling Perch Fishing"

Years ago I used to go down to the Carlsbad Hedionda Lagoon and collect those little black crabs that I would take to the pier (about 3/4 of the way out) and nail Sargo,Piling Perch, and Buttermouth. I would use a split shot and a #10 bronze bait holder hook. I would put on a crab and let it drift between the pilings about 10-15 ft or so around this time of year.

My question is: does anyone do that kind of fishing anymore and with any success? Feel free to respond if you do it from another pier. Thanks.

Born to swing!
