#11849, "3/4 day Premier at Catalina Report."

Striker and i got to Pierpoint Landing at 5:30 a.m. Left the docks at 7:00 a.m. with a little more than 30 people onboard. Capt. Jimmy Hon decided to head for Cat for rockfish to check out the seabass bite. Got to the West End at around 9:00 to pick up squid from the Pacific Carnage. Jimmy made a short run around the point and parked in between some private boaters. Soaked live squid for 45 mins. and someone finally hooked onto something. Within a minute, another guy hooks a fresh one. Both WSB were boated and both weighed at least 30 pounds plus. We ran off the island for some reds. Then went back to where we were to see if we can get anymore seabass. Sportking came along and parked next to us. Fished for a good hour or two when Jimmy called it a day. Got back to the dock at 5:30. Boat and crew were awesome. Striker and i both got some reds, but no seabass.
