#13270, "Morro Bay Perchin'"

Drove over to MB and fished near where the oil pier used to be yesterday afternoon. It was low tide and the Perch were hiding somewhere. I did end up catching 4, but the biggest was just over 4". I caught the smallest Barred Perch I've ever seen, 2 3/4" long. Fiesty little critter though! Stayed overnight and fished the same spot this morning. The bite wasn't wide open, but it was real good. Landed 18 between 8 and 14 inches. I caught the first 8 on pumpkin/pepper tubes and the next 6 on motoroil grubs. Then went about 30 minutes without getting bit. Switched back to the tube and nailed one on the next 4 casts. Then unfortunately, I had to leave so I could checkout of my room before noon. I really need to relocate closer to the beach! Anyway it was a blast. They were really pulling today. Have some pics being developed (still haven't bought a new digital) on a CD and will add them later. Including the massive 2 3/4 incher :) The conditions were excellent and I can't wait to go back in a couple of weeks.

Mike
