Check it out guys. They want to close off a lot of prime fishing area, without any sound scientific studies. Do something about this or our kids will be looking at the pictures of the "old days" and asking us what it was like to hook up on a fish.....
PASS IT ON!

PS why am I always in the middle of these hot issues.
My personal stance:
I want to see some sound studies about our local area done before we start shutting off areas. Numbers, numbers numbers, not some study from Monterey bay, ten years old. If it is the sound thing to do, and not an adgenda of some retiring professor that wants his name on some project, then lets do it. I am all for saving the resource. But lets look at the issues at hand. Sport/recreational fishing and diving bring in 100 times the money, and support many, many more people than commercial fishing does. The majority of our resource is being shipped overseas and we are paying the piper for it. Get off your butts and do something about it.
I will make an effort to have someone come to my tournament to give a little information out about what we can do to help, and try to get some flyers or some information about the issues. There will be some sample letters there and places for you to send them.
DONT FORGET > even if all you do is float-tube or surf fish, there are those who want to close the entire coast from Santa Barbara to Pt. Conception to all fishing and diving. Do something now, or regret it later guys. This affects everyone out there! MoonDoggie Santa Barbara, CA
