#1745, "April 8, Skiff"

We launched the boat at around noon o' clock or 1 or something. First stop was the one mile. Made a drift or two and Brian picked up a short sandy. We headed over to Leadbetter, and attempted to round the corner, but the swell was a little too much comin off the point, so we tucked in behind Leadbetter point and fished around there a little bit, and then down to Camby's for nothin. Back to the one mile. Made a couple drifts for nothing. At around 4 we decided to pick up some squid strips from Sealanding. Upon our return, we noticed the swell had considerably heightened. We got to about the half mile buoy before we decided we were done for the day. Swell was about 5-6ft. I wasn't concerned with the boat ride, but I was concerned with sitting still (it is a notched transom after all) and drifting around in the swell (especially because the boat likes to drift broadside to the swell, at least today). So, we turned it around and had a wet ride back to the harbor. I don't know if I'll get the boat out during the week or not. Probably not. So, that leaves this weekend for the Mustang trip, and I won't have the skiff out until probably the weekend after that. Unless I, uh, "don't have any homework" and I can take it out after school. If there's a couple sunny, windless days, it might be beyond my control...
