Took my kayak out the overcast afternoon of the 17th and fished the bay. There were a couple of tubers doing good on small halibut in 7 ft on the tiny AA swimbaits. One of the young men (Chad) professed to be the best fisherman in the world. I got two shorts in 14 ft. Tried on out to 37 ft but got only a few more short bites on the big Wham Fisheeze. Small bait balls would come to the surface. THey looked to be small anchovies, 3 to 4 inch size, so the tubers were using the correct size while I was going big. I should have stayed inside the swim bouys (14 ft deep). There were a lot of weeds washing around and my attempts with a jointed minnow only cleaned up the water a bit. A gentleman on a Hobie kayak said that he got 5 short WSB off Campus Point.
