I was thinkin' Monday or Tuesday morning. My work is usually really flexible but I've got a meeting Wednesday afternoon and don't wan't that to run into the fishin time if we stay out that long.
I haven't been up to Naples or Tajiguas either, so I think I'll go look for a launch site this afternoon to see what's up. I do want to steer clear of some of the tar though. I went by El Cap earlier this week to check it out but I didn't see much kelp. I remember seeing a boatload of kelp farther West(or northwest) that looked REALLY promising.
Recon info coming later tonight......... Also, you can check out the topo at that site I read about on someone's post:

Just search California for Tajiguas to find the general area.
...time passes....
Ok, here's what I found. You can get feel for it here:
There are 2 places to park and launch. 1st is down at the end of a small road That comes off the 101. From there it is only a 100-yard stroll to the beach past a fence. You have watch your footing down a sloped embankment, but it isn't tough. Looks really nice, but kinda exposed if the swell is bigger.
2nd is east a half-mile. There is a turnout right off the southbound 101 that overlooks a cove and point that might be good. If you were to go around the point, you'd get to the first spot. There is a lot of kelp between these spots. It starts at the point.
I'm thinkin Tuesday morning... Lemme know if you guys can make it then.
