Great job, sounds like you had fun. The Navigator has a lot of secondary stability, meaning it will feel like its going to tip but it takes a lot to roll it. My dad has the Fish N' Dive and that kayak feels stable but once it starts to flip its going to flip. After a couple of trips you will get used to your kayak and you can fish off of the side of your kayak(with your feet in the water) so maybe you can fish like that to adjust to the wind/current.
