#824, "People Powered Fishing Club Needs YOU!"

LAST EDITED ON Sep-05-00 AT 09:20 AM (PST)

Hey Guys,

I am toying with the idea of a "People Powered Fishing Club"

I have fished everything from a surfboard (between sets, holding my trout rod while surfing chest high sets) to windsurfers, to floattubes to rowboats and canoes....... I have also owned powerboats up to 26 feet long, and have had just as much fun with both. They each have their advantages and disadvantages.

I think that there are enough kayakers and float-tubers and longboard fishermen to make up a small fishing club, and hold monthly tournaments.

I am a member of another fishing club here in Santa Barbara, and find it very informational, as well as entertaining. The tournaments are fun and a great way to meet new people.

Please email me if this is something you think you would enjoy, a monthly meeting, lets say the last WED of the month. We can line up guest speakers, and share tips, tricks and stories and fishing reports. It will also be a great way to meet new people who love to do the thing we love to do, be out on the water fishing! I will look into getting some sort of discount for club members at local fishing and kayak stores and manfacturers.

I will be going out of the country for a week from Sept 15. but if there is enough interest, I will tentatively set a meeting for the last wed of Sept, the 27th. The meeting place will be detirmined, in Santa Barbara at 7:00pm.

LETS DO THIS! Let me know if you have any ideas, comments or concerns, or if you want to help.......
