#10203, "New Pics: Castaic Sunfish and Gizzard Shad"
Not having the full line of original Castaic hard-head baits on the site is a travesty - one that I am seeking to remedy starting now. When these baits came out (1996 ish) this stuff was revolutionary.
Below are the Sunfish and the Gizzard Shad. I hope that a few of you can take a minute to write your comments. Full reviews will be following on these guys in the near future. I've always had a soft spot in my heart for the Gizzard Shad. It put a lot of 3-4lb northern strain Santa Margarita lake bass in the boat for me in the late 90's. They still get bit.
The Sunfish is my heartbreaker. I lost several over 10 on that bait. One 12lber in particular that cleared 3 feet of air on the first jump, then greyhounded like a marlin before coming off. It's still a weapon on the beds if you have the nerves of steel to take the jump-offs :)
