I know orchard point is a good big bait spot, lots of big fish come off there during the year. Also the model air port on the drop off is really good. There is the what used to be the sunken island that can be good at times espically if you can find the road bed on it. Also there are a couple of big points on the east shoreline that are good for big baits, and dont foget to give station canyon a try, thats always a good bet. I know they eat the ospreys up there for me, but i have seen um eat the slamer too, dont count out the optimum because i have seen that account for some big fish too. good luck.
