Need info on how to anchor my 14' aluminum w/15Hp. Most of the time I go by myself and I have a super hooker type anchor. Can't seem to stop the boat from pirouletting even when there's little to no wind. Do I need another anchor? If so what kind and where would I put it? Thanks, remember there are no dumb questions here :-) x( :-(

In that situation I run one anchor off the bow and one off the stern. With two anchor lines out you have to be very careful not to have a hooked fish run your fishing line around one of the anchor lines.

Front and rear anchors work well
Watch the direction of the wind and swells as the weather picks up throughout the day. You dont want little wind waves coming at you from the back or from the sides.

As others have said, the answer is two anchors. Any boat is going to 'spin' around the single anchor no matter what kind of anchor it is.

I'm lucky in that sence as I have stumps with bushes/weeds growing out of them scattered all over the little swamp pond I usually fish in. I bought two bush/limb clamps that I have tied onto both sides of my little Basshunter pond-boat as I fear getting a Bass wrapped around an anchor line.

I agree that Murphy's is a great source for anchoring information and he also provides some excellent insight on how to position a boat on the spots. Those boats are very lite and they usually do a good job of holding on the hook. How much anchor chain are you using? Sometimes a little extra anchor chain can make all the difference in getting the anchor to hold.
