Today on Fishnet radio Angel of Angel's store confirmed a caller's and others claims that six stealhead have been caught recently on Stearn's Wharf. Supposedly the presence of stealhead is attributable to the closing of Mission Creek, which Angel is trying to get the City to open for the stealhead. This explains Leapin" Bass's recent stealhead near the wharf. Angel explained his identification of the fish as stealhead and not juvenile chinook.

I post this as an item of interest. Please do not fish for stealhead there because a) it is illegal and b) releasing a stealhead that has been hauled up to a pier, unhooked on a rough dry surface, and then tossed back down to the water is likely a death sentence.

Just to clear things up it wasn't my fish (can't take the credit).

I have also confirmed that the fish was in fact a steelhead and not a salmon. The forked tail is typical of juv. steelhead according to my sources.

Thanks for the clarification, Pete. And thanks for not pointing out that I misspelled steelhead (I guess I just pointed it out).
