Anybody see the counts lately??? There's been a consistant bite in SD for about a week now. It's 5 per rod in SD and Morro Bay! It's on. And, of course, the week I start school. $%&#@. That's the worst. Anyway, if you're gonna go, go now.

I know there are many of you out there that will doubt this...but I am almost positive I saw an albacore jump out of the water while feeding on anchovies at Rincon this past weekend. It was only about 50 feet from me...believe it or not. I want some more of that white meat tuna. Yum!

=)

Broomstick and me are making a run up to Patriot Sportfishing in Avila tonight. Talked to the landing and they said the weather looks good. The boat is an overnight Bites-On charter and still has spots open.

Full report to come on Sunday.

Carpooled to Avila on Friday with Moondoggie, Jizames, and Broomstick. Tuff day fishing. Went 80 miles out with 17 fish for 22 anglers. Only one fish on the troll all day for the whole boat. I farmed 2, Pablo sawed 2, and Marco and James each got a couple.

I really enjoyed the trip. The boat up there is good and has a helpful and knowledgeable crew. Plus it was great meeting a couple guys from the board and sharing stories and info. Marco knows his sh*t and really impressed me.

A funny side note. . . I always have a blast fishing even if the fishing is tuff. I asked my buddy if he had a good time seeing that it was his first overnight trip and I had more than encouraged him to spend the $145 to go on a "hot" albacore bite. I cringed when asking the question and he just laughed and said, "It's Saturday, I'm not at work, my girlfriend isn't bitching at me, yeah, I can say I had a great time." That is a good attitude!

Fish on.

Haha! Isn't that the truth about fishing. No one unless your a fisherman will understand that when you come back empty handed its not the end of the world. Just means go back out there and try, try, try again. The first time I dunked a bait it maybe went 5 feet down and slam! The spool starts tearing out line. I put my thumb on it and nearly got burned. When I took my thumb off, I got a nasty birdsnest. I still had the fish on and decided to reel in anyway before I get sawed ect. The captain saw my problem and tried to assist but no luck... The guy next to me had color on his fish and my fish b-lined straight to his causing me to get sawed.... Oh well... You win some and lose the majority! haha...

My gratitude goes out to the captain, his son, and crew for presenting a total professional operation. Seeing it as my first time on an overnighter I never had a better night sleep. As soon as I get that refund check from the government I will try to get out on a tuna boat again. Maybe next time I will be posting about eating my first tuna heart.

Thanks jizames for driving! Marko, where's those pic's?

Broom
