I was sitting around today after my first 3.5 session of summer school math (Ouch) and thought it might by a good idea to go fishing. I wish I had come up with the idea sooner, because I thought about it a 11:20, and was pressed for time to make it to Davey's Locker by 12:30. But I did make it and with a few minutes to spare. And the fishing did not disappoint. I would estimate that the boat scored about 3/4 limits for just about everyone, though some had more, and some had less. The bite on the plastics was pretty good, as long as you had a lighter color with a clear, sparkle belly. My best color for the day was clear with red flake. Second was prism grunion (all big hammers). They seemed to hit the smaller plastics a little better, but the quality was a bit better on the 5" baits. Almost all hits were on the sink. The best bass were taken on swim baits with big chunks of squid attached, which is usually a no-no, but today it worked for the guys who did it. A few legal halibut and some shorts were caught on the bait. The fish are still on structure, and don't seem to be holding yet on the soft bottom. Until next time, good fishing. Hey Fongster, I ran into Gary ( can't recall the last name) today who fished on the salt seekers twilight trip, and he mentioned something about another trip this month. Please keep me posted, I'd like to go out with you guys again. I also threw the Fong, but had no takers. Sorry.
