#11707, "Albacore/Yellowtail Update!"

Hey Gang!

Scotty here reporting the latest Albacore and Yellowtail news!

Albacore: The last boat reporting into our office was Shawn on the Legend, yesterday fishing the outer bank "Mushroom" south with only 1 fish caught on a kelp pattie. Shawn did meter good quantities of fish at 120 feet. The weird thing was the fish would charge up quickly to around 60 feet in the chum-line and that's it. Ocean conditions were good about 10 knots of wind, no swell, with a water temp of 61.8 degrees.

Shawn ran inside to the inner bank and fished until dark with no results.

There are still fish in the area with favorable conditions, even though it's very early and with boats running tonight and throught the weekend let's see what happens.

Yellowtail: Boats fishing San Clemente Island continue to score good numbers of big tackle busting Yellowtail in the Northwest Harbor area. Yesterday 4 boats had 49 Yellows with more than 60 hooked and lost. Today, only 2 boats reported in, the Seahawk LXV with 11 Yellows and the Sea Horse with 7 Yellowtail.

The Big Game 90 is leaving Long Beach Marina tonight at 10PM with room, so if you can go do-it!

Scotty
