Yesterday my son repeated his inshore salmon limits that I previously reported on. Again the fish were right outside the mouth of the Princeton Harbor (Pillar Point, Half Moon Bay). Read my previous report for details, that are about the same for both reports.

Whereas Thursday both fish were about 10 lbs, yesterday they were 6.5 and 19 lbs. Again he was in his 12' Porta Bote.

I wish I could get into some of that near shore norcal salmon fishing too, but I cannot get out until August. The irony for my son is that he would like to keep going out every day until the salmon leave because he lives five minutes from the harbor and the fish are only only a few minutes from the mouth. However, he and his girlfriend won a free week, starting today, at Tahoe to fish mackinaw trout and he has left for Tahoe reluctantly. He never expected to be reluctant to "have to" go to Tahoe to fish for macks, but it is hard to leave salmon when they are in your own back yard. At least the mack reports at Tahoe have been good (for boats leaving at 4:30 AM sharp).
