#7696, "4" Twirl Tail Worms"

I was given a package of Renegade Pro Series worms. They are Motor Oil Red Flake. They look and feel just like Blood Worms. I was thinking of Carolina Rigging them for the surf in hopes of attracting Spotfin Croaker and Corbina.

Has anyone ever used them with any success. They look like they could be pretty effective.

Thanks!

I have used the longer ones texas rigged in the harbor for sand bass and they work. While fishing from shore I noticed a reddish/pinkish thing dart out of the rocks and swim on the surface with a snakey wiggle. It stuck in my mind. So when I saw the Renegade curl tail worm in a 5 piece trial pack for only a buck, I said "why not?".

Many years ago when few anglers were using plastic in the salt, I tried the 6 inch Mann's Jelly worm (black) texas rigged in the Hueneme Harbor. The calico were all over it. Thinking I might be onto something, I tried it in the surf and got a small halibut.

Haven't tried it the red flake ones in the surf. Pls let us know how you do?

Thanks,

Bill
