#7629, "Stocker Trout Swimbait 9" vs. 10""

I am looking into buying a Stocker Trout 10" swimbait but would like to know if the 10" swims better than the 9" at slow speeds? The 9" just isn't made to slow roll and I am hearing the 10" will swim good at those speeds. But I am looking for more opinions. Also what kind of hook up ratios do you get with this bait?

I have both and I would agree, the 10" will do better at slower speeds. The 10" also fishes deep alot easier. The 9" is easier to burn near the surface. The 10" will get alot more depth out of a given retrieve.

As for hook up ratio, if you rig up a good stinger hook on the belly, the hook up ratio is good. This is a must. All you need is sevenstrand wire, crimps, split rings and treble hooks.

So this swimbait would be perfect for slow rolling out in say 25 to 50ft of water and still keep contact with the bottom?

The baits have a natural lift but I commonly catch fish into 40 feet with them. If you are keeping bottom contact the entire time, the bait isn't swimming the way it should.

How would you recommend working the 10" bait?

Slow and steady but once post spawn rolls around, speed it up.

Thanks for your help guys. I went and got 3 of the 10" stockers last night and am ready to give them a try this weekend.
