Forum Login Help

By Rob BelloniMay 22, 2005

Step 1: Click on "MESSAGE BOARDS" from the menu on the left

Step 2: Click where it says "First Time Visitor? Please Register

Step 3: Accept the forum agreement

Step 4: Select your user name and fill out your name and email.  You must provide a valid email address in order to register.  If you do not provide a valid email address, you will not receive the email that gives you your password.  Also note that if you have already an account using the email address you provide, you will not be able to register a second account.  The basic rule is, one account per email address.  If you would like to change you user name, you need to contact me using the contact page so that I can remove your account and allow you to recreate a new account.

Step 5: You will receive a confirmation that your password has been sent

Step 6: Check your email and get your password. You should receive an email that looks something like this:

Step 7: Go back to the forum and click the login button

Step 8: Enter your username and password.  If you would like to stay logged in on the computer you are on forever, check the box 'Remain logged in when I return later'.  If its likely that someone will play a joke on you by posting as you while you are gone, then checking this box is not such a good idea!

Step 9: When you log in for the first time, you'll be taken to a page where you can set your user settings.  There are a number of self explanatory user settings.  The ones you are probably most interested are

- Setting your avatar image.  Your avatar is that little picture that shows up by your post.  The screen below shows what you need to click on to select your avatar.

- Remain logged in when you return to use the forum at a later time.  This option is the same as the check box when you first log in.  You can set this to keep yourself logged in to the forum at all times.

Step 10: Now that you've set your user options, click submit at the bottom and go to the forum

Step 11: The last thing you'll want to do is set your password to something that is easier to remember.  You can set this through the user menu from the main forum page.

All set!
