I've never lost everything but I've left rods more than once and a Plano 3700 full of topwaters including a real wood Injured Minnow. That antique alone is now worth over $40, and I had over 8 other antiques in that box. Somebody got very lucky that day.
Becareful leaning rods against the car, you don't notice them if they fall, then you run them over, and that's down right painful.
