Twelve guys showed up to fish the tourney (8 kayaks & 4 tubers). Overall it was a relatively slow day but some nice fish were brought it. Jeff Schultz (kayak) took both 1st place and big fish with an 8 lb. 15 oz. ~29 inch halibut along with a couple bass. Wayne ESP (kayak) took 2nd with an 8 lb. 1 oz. halibut and some bass. Erik Nordholm (tube) took 3rd with a 24 inch halibut and a few bass.
My report: First time float tubing Haskells. The swell was quite large. That combined with the dirty water prevented any shallow water (under 7 ft.) fishing (which is what I prefer) so I was forced out deeper. I concentrated on halibut and picked up one 20 incher and a 22.5 incher. Both of them were caught on a 4 inch Prizm Kei Lime Big Hammer with a 1/2 oz. head. I was fishing just to the West of the pier in about 15 feet of water. Because of the work involved in running the thing I didn't compete and only fished for a few hours.

Thanks for organizing the tournament. I think everybody had a fun day. It was great to get out and fish with the local tubers and yakers. I was happy to see the top spots go to the local Haskels boys. Hopefully it will be bigger and better next year. Thanks also to Big hammer for all the free baits and pro cure for the goo.
