I'm more concerned about visibility for other boaters which is why I won't be spending much time in the bay without some fluorescents. The only pinniped that could even come close to the size of my kayak (12'6") would be elephant seals and possibly sea lions, both of which are brown in color, and at that size would not only have a much wider profile, but would no longer be a prey item.
