I just wanted to thank you for your detailed information on using swimbaits for Halibuts. I have been fishing Goleta Pier at lunch time for the past week and finally caught a halibut using a 3" swimbait. The halibut wasnt big at all (12inches), but catching that using a light weight rod spooled with 6lb line was a blast.
