Is it true that rockfishing is banned deeper than 120 feet here in SoCal? How long is this in effect? I noticed another post on this website mention that certain species (reds?) are also banned? How is the average angler supposed to keep up with the DFG and their ever-changing regs? It's all a bunch of BS if you ask me...

Angler Dude I share your anger, dude. Yes it's true, it's true. New regulations come out after December 31st.

For names and pictures of legal rockfish and related species catchable within 120' go to www.dfg.ca.gov/mrd/fishcard.pdf.
