October 6, 2000 - Day 7

Day two, fourth flight, due back at 4:00pm.  Another cold morning.  I drew Marc Marcantonio, a gentleman, scholar, and heck of a fisherman.  We headed south to the Gorge to some spots he had got a decent limit the day before.  We fished along side Andy Cuccia most of the day.  We fished from 20-40 feet deep on a ledge that extended out from a rip rap bank.  Marc had one fish early and got a solid 3 later on.  I had one short fish until 3pm.  At 3pm, I caught a solid keeper, split shotting a 4" worm.  I proceeded to get a 3.5lb smallie soon thereafter.  On the last cast of the day I caught a squeaker, threw him in the box, and headed for weigh-in.  I was really pleased to have gotten 3 keeper bites.  Cameron, who weighed in before me, took this picture of me on stage

Cameron only had one bite that day.  It turned out to be a 5lb largemouth.  One of only a handful of largemouths caught, and certainly the biggest.  Look for him holding that fish on t.v.  He missed big fish by only a couple of ounces. (Won by Brent Ehrler!)

Marc Marcantonio as it turned out is a great contact I made.  An extremely business savvy angler.  We exchanged business cards and have been in contact via email.
