October 7, 2000 - Day 8

Day three, finally!  I drew Mike Mahan, a local angler who was more frustrated than me about the fishing.  He was struggling and agreed to show me some good spots, but couldn't guarantee the fish would be there.  Well they weren't.  Mike caught one fish early off a sunken barge.  Killer spot, however, that was the only bite we had all day.  We ran down to the Gorge, up in the Snake, and all around the local spots and couldn't buy a bite.

I blanked.  Ouch!  I had my P-Line shirt on, ready for the final weigh in and didn't even make it to the stage.  What really hurt was seeing the bags of fish coming in.

Cameron and I had had about enough of the Tri-Cities and headed for home following the third day.  We drove all the way to Shasta that night.  The friendly Brent Ehrler invited us to stay at his cousin's place near Lake Shastina.  We slept in nice beds and got up late!  Brent Ehrler is a sharp young man.  He reminds me of Rob Belloni.he's got tons of great things going for him, is super friendly and aloha, and catches fish!  Thanks Brent for the hospitality.
